When owner, Debbie Beattie, opened her shop, it was with the philosophy that when children are in a toy shop, it should be a tactile experience – they should be able to touch, play with and ‘test out’ the toys! Children are encouraged to make themselves at home at Higglety Pigglety and the floor models are certainly well-loved. The kids aren’t the only ones rolling their hands through the marbles, playing with the doll house and testing out the bouncy balls though! The adults are just as playful!
Higglety Pigglety is also more than just a toy shop. The shop also has a welcoming creative café atmosphere. Children and parents can sit down and do a craft together at the vintage picnic table (or pick up a kit to take home). Quality time with the little ones is encouraged, without the chore of cleaning up the mess!
Higglety Pigglety hosts a full program of craft workshops and special events as well, and children can even have their birthday party in the shop (just ask for package options!).
